A link to Debabrata Biswas’ rendition along with a translation of the song.
Don’t offer me your words alone, oh my friend, my dearest
Once in a while, do touch my heart too, I beg you in all earnest.
The fatigue of my journey long and the thirst at the end of the day
How shall I ever slake, I hardly know a way
This darkness you have filled up wholly, that alone do attest
Once in a while, do touch my heart too, I beg you in all earnest.
My heart is pining to share itself, not to receive alone
It travels along bearing inside all it has saved on its own.
Put forth your hand and place it, on my hand perchance
Hold it I shall, fill it I shall, to make us companions
My lonely way with delight wondrous will surely then be blest
Once in a while, do touch my heart too, I beg you in all earnest.

Dipankarda, oshadharon hoyechhe! I think the feeling of such songs have always been a hallmark to Georgeda’s singing style, and now it has touched your pen as well. Every word is brimming with the philosophy of Tagore.
